TERMS & CONDITIONS

General

  • Arc Dance aims to provide a high quality dance education to all students, safe dance practices, and appropriate holistic care for all students.

  • Arc Dance is committed to engaging dance teachers with relevant dance and teaching qualifications, first aid and child safeguarding knowledge, technical and choreographic expertise and industry experience.

  • Arc Dance reserves the right to replace a teacher with no notice in cases of injury or illness or other issue. All teachers are selected by the Arc Dance Director and will be appropriately qualified with relevant expertise.

  • Arc Dance is committed to clear and timely communication with students, parents/caregivers. All communication will be made in class, on bulletin boards and through offical channels (email, social media, website). Arc Dance does not allow teachers to communicate with students under the age of 16 directly or via social media.

Fees & Refunds

  • Fees are payable in full within the first two weeks of each term unless prior payment arrangements have been made.

  • Unpaid fees will result in students being asked to sit out of classes.

  • Refunds will not be given after the second week of term. Refunds prior to this may incur a $50 cancellation fee.

  • Refunds are not given for students who are absent from class due to illness, injury or personal circumstances unless students will be absent for more than 3 consecutive weeks and the studio director has been informed prior.

  • In the event of a COVID-19 lockdown, classes will transition to online. Refunds will not be given in the case of missed lessons due to lockdown.

Health, Safety, Injury & Medical

  • Arc Dance is not liable for any personal injury sustained or any loss or damage of personal property whilst on the premises.

  • Arc Dance will aim to provide a safe learning environment and use qualified and/or experienced dance teachers to reduce the risk of injury. However, all students, parents and guardians should recognise that injuries do occur from time to time and students must accept this element of risk.

  • Arc Dance students are under supervision whilst in class only. We strongly advise that students wait quietly inside the dance venue until collected by a parent/caregiver. This is for the student’s safety.

  • A first aid kit is available to any student through their teacher. Teachers will not provide anyone with Panadol or the equivalent, or administer any medication to students without written consent of the parent/caregiver.

  • It is the responsibility of the student, parent/caregiver to notify the teacher before the class starts of any prior injury, medical condition or treatment which may be of concern. Safe and appropriate physical modifications can be offered to any students with an injury or medical condition however we encourage appropriate medical advice on physical activities to be sought.

  • In case of accident or emergency, parents/caregivers will be notified either as soon as appropriate (either immediate or upon pick up) and if deemed required medical attention will be sought.

Class Uniform & Policy

  • All students must be appropriately dressed for dance class with appropriate footwear for their dance style. No school uniforms, jeans, jackets or hats are to be worn. 

  • Hair should be neatly groomed and secured off the dancer’s face at all times. 

  • No jewellery is to be worn to any dance class except small earrings.

  • All students should bring a water bottle to each class. Glasses from the kitchen are not available for use.

Photography & Videoing of Students

  • Photography or videoing of students in class is not permitted.

  • Arc Dance will from time to time take photos and videos of students and use them for promotional or teaching purposes.

  • All photos will be unnamed.

  • Permission is requested on the enrolment confirmation form (sent with invoice).

Privacy Act

  • Arc Dance enrolment forms collect information about the student. Under the privacy Act 1993 you are entitled to have access to and request correction of this information at any time.

Class Attendance

  • Regular class attendance is vital for students to develop and keep up with their syllabus work.

  • Students must be punctual to classes to ensure that they participate in the class warm up.

  • No cell phones will be permitted in classes at any time (except in the case of emergency - please advise the teacher).

  • It is appreciated if parents/caregivers can advise the class teacher if a student is not able to attend class. Messages can be sent via email to info@arcdance.co.nz or calling/texting 021314581.

Intellectual Property & Copyright

  • All choreography remains the property of the relevant syllabus organization. All other performance, class, workshop material remains the property of the choreographer and may not be passed on or reproduced.

  • Please credit @arcdance_nz and/or the choreography on all social media posts.

Behaviour

  • All staff, teachers, students and families are expected to adhere to good manners, and respectful, kind, and professional behaviours at all times.

  • All students are encouraged to be on time to classes, with the appropriate attire and gear.

  • No forms of bullying or discrimination will be tolerated from anyone within the Arc Dance community.

  • Teachers and minors should not have contact with each other via social media and all teachers will adhere to appropriate child safeguarding procedures.

  • Please make all efforts to keep noise levels down in our social area whilst classes are taking place. Parents/caregivers are asked not to ‘coach’ or interfere with the teacher’s pedagogy from the side of the room if observing.
